Recently I have been working on this. Despite its simplicity this model system is full of surprises. Our new preprint “Anisotropic particles in two-dimensional convective turbulence”  is available on Arxiv https://arxiv.org/abs/1910.02882

The code for CFD I have been developing and using in the last years for Eulerian-Lagrangian studies, together with its outputs, is now presented in this brief OA article https://doi.org/10.1016/j.simpa.2019.100002

I attended the “Fourth Xiamen Symposium on Marine Environmental Sciences“, gave a talk, discussed with my collaborators and enjoyed -very much – the warm winter of Xiamen.

The ephemeral beauty of turbulent flows: This figure shows the temperature dissipation rate, in false colors (light tones intense dark are small), from a snapshot of a bidimensional Rayleigh-Benard convective system at Ra=10^9 and Pr=1. The spatial resolution is 2048 x 4096 discretization points.
