Cold drops and hot bubbles

Linear stability analysis suggests that thermal particles always stabilize a thermally unstable fluid layer. This is the last result of Saad PhD thesis and of our french-brazilian collaboration. “Particle Thermal Inertia Delays the Onset of Convection in Particulate Rayleigh-Bénard System”, Saad Raza, Apolline Lemoine, Yan Zhang, Enrico Calzavarini, Romulo B. Freitas, Leonardo S. de B. Alves, Silvia C.Hirata, https://arxiv.org/abs/2511.02112  now in press on IJMF. But is this true or just an “hallucination” of our Eulerian model? More work on this is needed…
